Tips for Choosing a Coworking Space in Barcelona

Not all coworking spaces in Barcelona are the same. No matter how cool a coworking space might sound, it might not be the right fit for you. Here’s some advice for you to keep in mind when considering which space to work from in Barcelona:

  • Do you work alone or in a team? If you’ll be doing a lot of videocalls, you should avoid spaces with too many people and noise, or at least make sure you have a “safe corner” where noise is not an issue.
  • Which sector do you work in? I strongly recommend you choose a space where you can be part of a strong community, do networking, and even attend relevant events that can help you develop professionally.
  • How important is community for you? Some coworking spaces in Barcelona organize a lot of events and are home to a tight community, while others don’t place much emphasis on that.
  • Comfort and ergonomics: Do you need an ergonomic chair and desk? Maybe an extra screen? Think about this too if you’re planning to spend long hours at your new coworking space.
  • Opening times: Do you work during normal business hours? Or do you need a space that’s open until late or even on weekends?
  • Price and membership plans: Coworking spaces in Barcelona usually offer a wide range of prices and membership plans to choose from, such as day passes, monthly passes for hot desks, fixed desks, or private offices.
  • Noise levels: Do you need complete silence, or are you okay with background noise? I suggest you first try out the space and check out the noise levels before committing.
  • Extras: Do you appreciate having extras such as snacks, unlimited coffee, meeting rooms, or printers? Check with the different spaces you’re considering so that you can compare.
